No gymnastics experience is needed and they will progress to more advanced levels within the class or to the competitive program. They will develop strength, flexibility, and balance, which is beneficial in our sport as well as many others. We are equipped with all male apparatuses.
Girls Recreational 1
This class is best suited for girls ages 6 and up. This class is designed for girls with little or no experience in the sport. Skills will be developed to improve flexibility and strength to enhance skill development. They will be grouped according to skill and age. This is the building block for the other levels. All new gymnasts will start here and progress to other levels.
Girls Recreational 2
This class is designed for girls that are more advanced and who have progressed from Recreational 1 level. Emphasis is placed on enjoying the sport, developing more advanced skills, and having fun. In this level they can decide whether competitive gymnastics is a direction they want to go or to just continue to challenge themselves with more advanced skills. Groupings will be mainly on ability and secondly according to age.
Pre-Competitive
This class is by invitation only and is designed to introduce girls who may be
interested in the competitive program but are not completely sure. This class
allows girls to be challenged but without the commitment and obligations that go
along with the competitive program. It is also for girls who want to go in the
competitive direction but are either not ready or old enough
yet.
Regional Stream Competitive Program
This is the largest competitive stream in Manitoba. Our competitive program is for girls and boys from the beginner level to the most advanced, who want to participate in various competitions through the Province. This is an invitation-required program, with an emphasis on having fun and a commitment to working hard, not just working on skills but making them better to competing in the sport and feeling good about yourself and your achievements while supporting and encouraging others to do the same. As the gymnasts progress and higher levels achieved, further competitions beyond the regional stream can be introduced as the gymnasts further develop their skills.
